Ginger Snaps, exclusively sold at Naperville’s two Occasions gift stores, are small button-like fashion jewelry pieces that literally snap onto and into necklaces, bracelets, rings and other accessories by the brand.
“What makes them great gifts is that they are affordable,” says Occasions founder and owner Donna Smith of the jewelry trend just introduced at their stores a few weeks ago.
“That’s what we are about, being unique,” she says.
The buttons, about the size of a quarter, come in all colors and materials.
“Crystals, jewels or metal, they are so versatile,” Smith says.
The bracelets are either silver-plated or leather, with adjustable toggle bolts. The snaps also fit onto rings, necklaces or scarf personalized rings, all sold at Occasions, Smith adds.
Occasions, a Naperville gift store first opened in 2007, is always looking to promote unique items, from glass birdhouses to fun napkins. They stumbled onto this affordable but fun jewelry trend at a gift show in Atlanta, produced by a Minneapolis company.
