1919年3·1運動が起きると、儒林は韓国の独立を訴える請願書をパリ講和会議に提出した。
クァク·ジョンソク。キム·ボクハンをはじめとするユリム代表137人が署名したこの長文の文を「パーティー蔵書」と呼ぶ。
パリ蔵書は日本が大韓帝国を強制的に併合した事実を暴露し、植民統治の暴力性と韓国独立の正当性を主張する内容で構成されている。 これにより、韓国国民の都頭が独立を切望していることを国内外に広く知らせるきっかけとなった。
