That's the beginning of the poplular bonfie night song.
IT'S THE 5th!!!
BONFIRE NIGHT!!
Wahoooooooo!
I shall be marching this year as an american indian...!
My feather head-dress is HUGE!
And I have load of bells on my costume, so I jingle-jangle as I walk along!
And I shall try to see my friend is the crowds watching us and wave at them.
Lemme explain,
My home-town of Lewes, has the biggest and best Bonfire Night celebrations in the world.
Bonfire night is when, years ago, Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the houses of parliament, luckily he was caught. Lewes is famous for it's celebrations because of some protestant maryrs who were tortured in the dungeons under Lewes, well, that is what Mum says but I really don't know what that has to do with Guy Fawkes, unless the fact that Guy Fawkes was catholic might have something to do with it.
The whole town and some from others assemble in and around the streets to watch the huge parade marching around Lewes in precessions.
This starts about 6:45pm and ends at about 11:00pm-12:00pm.
Then all the societies go to seperate bonfire sites and have a HUGE bonfire, set of the most amazing fireworks and blow up tableus and effigies.
When we march we hold flaming torches...
I'm behind the woman in the dress.
I am in C.S.B.S-(Commercial Square Bonfire Society)
Can't Wait!
