前回の更新から約1ヶ月が経ちました。
如何お過ごしでしょうか？
今日は、1月末から2月末に掛けての出来事を書き連ねようと思います。
1. スキー旅行；
前回の駐在先でお世話になった上司とスキー旅行に繰り出しました。
私は大学生の時にスキー部に所属していたので、『今回の欧州駐在期間中は必ず欧州でスキーをするぞ！』と心に誓い、有給休暇の消化がてら毎年冬にスキーに出かけていました。
過去2年はスイスのZermattでしたが、今年はイタリアのCortina d'Ampezzoでスキーを楽しみました。Veneziaからバスで2時間ほどです。
Zermattと比べるとどうしても標高が足らないこともあり雪質もそこまで良くなかったですが、初日は天候にも恵まれ、良い思い出となりました。
2. ピアノレッスン；
今回の休職中に、仕事とは無縁のことに挑戦したいと思い、ピアノを始めました。
週1回のレッスンです。本当の初学者で、何もわからないところからのスタートです。現在は、MBAを理由に休職中ですが、さながら音楽留学をしているような気分になります。自習用のキーボードも購入し練習に励んでいます。漸く左手を使うことができるようになりました。
いつか、空港に置いてあるピアノで弾けたらいいなと思います。
3. フランス語学校；
ピアノに加えて、フランス語学校にも通うことにしました。既に学費は支払済。来月から始まります。
前回の駐在時に、業後にフランス語学校に通っていたのですが、日本に帰国後、多忙故に勉強をサボってしまいました。
大学生の時には中国語を選択していたので、フランス語学校に通うのは0からの挑戦であり、授業中に英語を使うと先生に何度も怒られていました。
これまで仏検3級までは合格していますが、休職期間中にB1までレベルアップしたいです。
そのために、年末年始に日本に帰国した時にフランス語の単語帳と文法書も購入しました。頑張ります。
4. MBA；
授業も段々佳境に入ってきました。
Marketing、SDGsに関する授業を受講中です。グループワークも忙しくなってきており、平日の夜にチームのみんなと集まって課題に取り組んでいます。
来月がグループプレゼンや個人課題の提出締め切りになるので、これからまたギアをあげて追い込みます。
5. バイク売却；
今回の駐在の内示を受けたのは、コロナウィルスが蔓延し始めた時でした。当時、YouTubeでバイクのツーリング動画がお勧めに上がっていたので視聴していると自分もバイクに乗りたくなったので、思い切って赴任直前に教習所（東京のレインボーモータースクール）に通いました。
折角なので、大型二輪の免許を取ろうと決め、中型二輪をすっ飛ばして挑戦しました。
初夏に通い始め、業後に教習所に直行する日々で、当時はスラロームでコケたり、波状路でエンストしたり、となかなか大変でした。
結局、赴任2日前に卒業試験を合格し、翌日に免許センターで免許を書き換え、赴任しました。
当地でバイクの公道デビューを飾るわけですが、買ったバイクは2016年製のTriumph Street Triple RXです。675ccの大型バイクです。
HondaのRebelやYamahaのYZFに試乗したものの、Triumphの暴力的な加速に惚れ購入をしました。
結局、当地では主に夏場に乗りましたが、冬は寒いし雨で滑りやすいこともあって次第に乗る機会も減り、バッテリーが上がってしまう始末。
また、現在の休職中は当然会社から給料も支払われず、自分の貯蓄を切り崩して生活するので、金策のために売却を決断しました。2年半所有していましたが、売却金額もそこそこだったので、家賃支払いの足しになりそうです。
良いバイクでした。日本に帰国したら、またバイクに乗りたいです。
6. 株高；
先週、日経平均が1989年以来の最高値を付けました。
入社以来、自社株やその他の株式を購入し続けてきました。
半導体関連銘柄をいくつか保有していたので私の資産も良い波に乗れました。海外居住中は株式投資を出来ないのが残念ですが、配当金は入ってくるので、そのお金を休職期間中の生活費に充てようと思います。

It has been about a month since my last update.
How are you guys doing?
Today, I gonna write about the events that took place from the end of January to the end of February.
1. Ski trip;
I went on a ski trip with my ex-boss, who was a great help to me during my last secondment in Europe.
I was a ski club member when I was a university student, so I vowed to myself, "I will definitely go skiing in Europe during my stay in Europe!" Then , I used to go skiing every winter after I had used up my paid vacation days.
For the past two years, I skied at Zermatt in Switzerland, but this year, I enjoyed skiing at Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy, which is about two hours by bus from Venezia.
Compared to Zermatt, the snow quality was not as good due to the lack of altitude, but we were blessed with good weather on the first day, and it was a great memory.
2. Piano lessons;
I wanted to try something unrelated to work during this sabbatical leave, so I started piano lessons this time.
It is one lesson a week. I am a true beginner, starting from a place where I know nothing. I am currently on leave for an MBA, but I feel as if I am studying music abroad. I also bought a keyboard for self-study and am practicing hard. I gona able to use my left hand.
I hope to play on the piano at the airport someday.
3. French language school;
In addition to piano, I have decided to attend a French language school. I have already paid the tuition. It will start next month.
I had attended French language school after work during my last secondment in Europe, but after returning to Japan, I skipped the study due to my hectic work.
I had chosen Chinese as my second foreign language of choice when I was a university student. Hence, attending French school was a challenge from scratch, and the teacher repeatedly scolded me for using English during class.
So far, I have passed the French Proficiency Test level 3 in Japan, but I would like to improve my level up to B1 during this leave.
For this purpose, I also bought a French vocabulary book and a grammar book when I returned to Japan during the year-end and New Year holidays. I will do my best.
4. MBA;
Classes are getting closer and closer to their end in this term.
I am now taking classes on Marketing and SDGs. Group work is getting busier, and I am working with my team members on weekday evenings to work on assignments.
Next month will be the deadline for submitting group presentations and individual assignments, so I am going to gear up and push hard again.
5. Sale of my motorcycle;
I received the company's unofficial notice of this secondment when the coronavirus began to spread. At the time, I was watching YouTube videos of motorcycle touring that had been recommended, and I wanted to ride a motorcycle myself, so I took the plunge and went to a driving school (Rainbow Motor School in Tokyo) just before I was transferred.
Since it was a good opportunity, I decided to get a license for a large-sized motorcycle, skipping the medium-sized motorcycle class and trying it.
I started going to the school in early summer and went straight to the school after work every day. At that time, I struggled with dizzying slalom and stalling on wavy roads.
In the end, I passed the graduation exam two days before I left for my new post, and the following day, I went to the license center to get my license renewed.
The bike I bought was a 2016 Triumph Street Triple RX, a 675cc large-sized motorcycle.
I test-rode Honda's Rebel and Yamaha's YZF but fell in love with the Triumph's violent acceleration and made the purchase.
In the end, I rode it mainly in the summer in this country, but in the winter, it was cold and slippery in the rain, so I gradually rode it less and less, and the battery ran out of power.
I have owned it for two and a half years, and the sale price was not so bad, so it will be enough to pay my rent.
It was a good bike. I would like to ride it again when I come back to Japan.
6. Stock market rally;
Last week, the Nikkei 225 reached its highest level since 1989.
Since joining the company, I have bought my company and other stocks.
My assets could also ride the sound wave because I owned some semiconductor-related stocks.
It is also unfortunate that I cannot invest in stocks while living abroad, but dividends will come in, and I will use it for living expenses during my leave of absence.
