新年明けましておめでとうございます。
2023年もあっという間に終わりました。
そして新年は元日から能登半島での地震、羽田空港での事故等があり穏やかではない年明けとなりました。
前回の投稿から時間が経ちましたが、今日はこの年末年始をどのように過ごしたか足跡を残します。
1. まず、2023年の12月はMBAの授業、グループ課題、期末試験に追われていました。
最後の追い込みはかなり大変でしたが、何とか乗り越えることが出来ました。
明日から新たな学期、授業が始まり、昨日今日で予習も何とか終えました。前学期の成績が来週に発表されるようです。
2022年9月に始まった授業も気付けば2/3が終わりました。今年、絶対に卒業します。
2. 次に年末年始は旅行を沢山しました。12月中に課題を全て提出し終わり、以下の国を旅行しました。
（1）12月9日〜11日：トルコ/イスタンブール
（2）12月15日〜18日：ジョージア/トビリシ
（3）12月21日〜24日：アメリカ/ニューヨーク
（4）12月27日〜29日：エストニア/タリン
（5）12月31日〜1月11日：日本/宮崎・東京
元々、今回の駐在は2回目の欧州駐在だったため、旅行をするにしても基本コンセプトは『過去に行ったことがない国に行く』というもの。1回目の駐在時に欧州のほぼ全ての国を回り終わっていたため、この年末年始の機会を捉え、様々な所に弾丸で行ってきました。
（1）イスタンブールは、フランクフルト乗り換え。欧州とアジアの中継地らしく双方の文化の融合を感じられる部分がありました。モスクやその他の建物、展望台なども綺麗でした。トルコ風呂も試してみました。垢すりをしてもらい、さっぱりできました。
（2）トビリシは、アテネ乗り換え。トビリシ自体が世界遺産に指定されているらしいです。コンパクトな街で、ワインも美味しかったです。もう少し長く滞在できれば、郊外の教会も回れたことでしょう。
（3）NYは初めての上陸。とにかく歩き回って、観光名所を攻めました。ロックフェラーセンターのクリスマスツリーが綺麗でした。行きたかったMoMAで、多くの名作絵画を鑑賞できました。また、大学の先輩や会社の同僚と落ち合い、近況をUpdateすることも出来ました。
（4）タリンは、ヘルシンキ乗り換え。雪が降っており非常に寒かったです。タリンの旧市街は非常にコンパクトで観光もしやすかったです。タリンの展望台からお隣のヘルシンキを臨むことも出来ました。旧市街広場ではクリスマスマーケットが催されており、ホットワインを嗜みました。
（5）宮崎へは、1月1日に羽田に到着後、そのまま国内線乗り継ぎで向かいました。目的地はシーガイアで、弾丸ながらフェニックスゴルフアカデミーで合宿をしました。羽田空港に到着後、能登での地震があり、また翌2日は羽田での事故がありました。ゴルフの方は久しぶりにクラブを握ったこともあり散々でしたが、一緒に回ったJuniorの子のプレイが素晴らしく終始感動していました。東京では、一念発起をして、カルティエのリングを購入しました。
尚、今回の年末年始の旅行でJALのステータスがクリスタル→サファイアとなり、JGCへの入会も済ませました。
2024年1月からJGCへの入会のハードルが上がりそうだったので、何とか2023年中に決めることができ良かったです。
2023年は世界中を飛び回りました。
One World加盟航空会社で日本への帰国を2回、UAE/Dubai、南ア/Cape Town、USA/NY、エストニア/タリン、フィンランド/ヘルシンキを巡りました。
ANAの方は、2023年はBronzeステータスで、2024年にはステータスが剥奪されるでしょう。それでも、昨年はイスラエル/エルサレム、エジプト/カイロ、ルーマニア/ブカレストなどを回りました。
次回の投稿では、この辺りを綴ります。
最後に、皆さんは新年の目標を決められましたか？
私は今年の目標を定めました。追ってこれについても書き連ねるつもりですが、激動の年にしたいなと思っています！

Happy New Year!
The year 2023 has ended in the blink of an eye.
The New Year started off not so peacefully with the earthquake on the Noto Peninsula and the accident at Haneda Airport.
It has been a while since my last post, but today I would like to leave a footprint of how I spent this New Year's holiday.
1. First of all, I was very busy with MBA classes, group assignments, and final exams in December 2023.
The final push was quite tricky, but I managed to get through it.
Tomorrow is the start of a new semester and classes begin, and I managed to finish my preparation yesterday and today. It seems that grades for the previous semester will be announced next week.
I realized that 2/3 of the classes that started in September 2022 are over. I will definitely graduate this year.
2. Next, I did a lot of travelling during the year-end and New Year's holidays.
(1) December 9-11: Istanbul, Turkey
(2) December 15-18: Tbilisi, Georgia
(3) December 21-24: New York, USA
(4) December 27-29: Tallinn, Estonia
(5) December 31-January 11: Miyazaki and Tokyo, Japan
Since this was my second time living in Europe, my basic concept was to visit countries I had never been to before, and since I had already visited almost all European countries during my first assignment, I took advantage of this New Year's holiday to visit various places on a bullet train.
(1) Istanbul is a transit point between Europe and Asia, and I could feel the fusion of both cultures. The mosques, other buildings, and observatory were beautiful. I also tried the Turkish bath. I had a scrubbing and felt refreshed.
(2) I heard that Tbilisi itself is designated as a World Heritage Site. It is a compact city, and the wine was delicious. If I could have stayed longer, I could have visited churches in the suburbs.
(3) This was my first time to land in New York. Anyway, I walked around and hit the tourist attractions. The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center was beautiful. I was able to see many masterpieces of paintings at MoMA, which I had wanted to visit. I was also able to meet up with some of my college seniors and colleagues and update them on what I was up to.
(4) In Tallinn, it was snowing and very cold. The old town of Tallinn was very compact and easy to explore. From the observatory in Tallinn, I could see the neighbouring Helsinki. There was a Christmas market in the Old Town Square, and I enjoyed a glass of hot wine.
(5) After arriving at Haneda Airport on January 1, I took a domestic flight to Miyazaki. My destination was Sea-Gaia, where I had a training camp at the Phoenix Golf Academy despite the bullet. After arriving at Haneda Airport, there was an earthquake in Noto, and the next day, there was an accident at Haneda.
My playing golf was a mess, as I hadn't held a club in a while, but I was impressed from start to finish by the excellent play of the Junior kids I went around with. In Tokyo, I took a leap of faith and bought a Cartier ring.
In addition, my JAL status changed from Crystal to Sapphire during this year-end and New Year's trip, and I also joined JGC.
The hurdle for JGC membership was going to be raised from January 2024, so I am glad that I managed to complete it before the end of 2023.
In 2023, I flew all over the world.
I made two return trips to Japan on One World member airlines: UAE/Dubai, South Africa/Cape Town, USA/NY, Estonia/Tallinn, and Finland/Helsinki.
My ANA status was Bronze in 2023, and my status will be revoked in 2024. Still, last year, I toured Israel/Jerusalem, Egypt/Cairo, and Romania/Bucharest.
