1. 輝く日を仰ぐとき　 月星 （ つきほし ）    眺 （ なが ） むるとき
雷いかずち ） 鳴り渡るとき　まことの 御神 （ みかみ ） を思う
我が 魂 （ たま ）    いざたたえよ　おおいなる御神を

2. 森にて鳥の音を聞き　そびゆる山に登り
谷間の流れのこえに　まことの御神を思う
 

3. 御神は 世人 （ よびと ） を愛し　一人の御子を 下 （ くだ ） し
世人の救いのために　十字架にかからせたり
 

4. 天地 （ あめつち ） 造りし神は　人をも造りかえて
正しく 清き 魂 （ たましい ） 　持つ身とならしめ 給 （ たも ） う

2. When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

 

3. And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

 

4. When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

 

天は神の栄光を語り告げ、大空は御手のわざを告げ知らせる（詩篇19:1）

 

あなたの指のわざである天を見、あなたが整えられた月や星を見ますのに、

人とは何者なのでしょう。あなたがこれを心に留められるとは（詩篇8:3-4）
