今日はスラムダンクについてお話をしようと思いますｗｗｗ
でも井上武彦の書いたバスケマンガ『SLAM DUNK』についてではないですよ。（笑）

Slam dunkの名詞用法の意味には、"(in BASKETBALL) the act of jumping up and putting the ball through the net with a lot of force."「（バスケットボールで、）高くジャンプしてボールに力を込めてネットの中に入れる行為」(Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary (OALD) 7th edition)という意味があります。
つまりダンク・シュートのことです。
しかし、この単語の名詞用法にはもう一つ意味があるのはごぞんじでしたか？
もう一つの方は、"(NAmE, infromal) something that is certain to be successful."「（北米英語、口語）成功することが確実なこと」(OALD 7th edition)です。つまり「簡単なこと」や「朝飯前」といった意味になります。
(e.g.) Immigration reform is not a slam dunk issue for Democrats after all.
(例）どのみち民主党にとって移民法改革は、容易な問題ではない。
このようにすでに知っている単語でも複数意味を持つ場合があるので、こまめに辞書を引く習慣を常に持ってください。
