今年残すところあと少しだけになりましたね。

僕自身、今年最後のブログは何について書こうか、ずいぶん迷いました。
I personally pondered what shall I blog as my last topic of this year.
考えた結果、１年最後の締めくくりは、シンプルに終わらせることにしました。
And I reached to a conclusion to finish it simply.
最近観た映画『戦場のアリア』を観ながら思い付いたことを一言二言記して、これを今年最後の作品とさせて頂きます。
I will share about what crossed my mind when I was watching Merry Christmas (Joyeux Noël), the film I recently saw, and will make this as my final work of this year.

この２００５年に公開されたフランス映画は第一次世界大戦中の１９１４年を舞台にした実話に基づいたフィクションです。動画をご覧になってお分かりかと思いますが、英語、フランス語、ドイツ語など複数言語が飛び交っていますね。
Joyeux Noël is a French film which was released in 2005 based on true story that happened in 1914 during World War I (WWI). As you realized seeing the trailer, many languages such as English, French, and German are used in this film.
この映画は英国・フランスの兵士達と敵国であるドイツの兵士達の間でクリスマス・イブの日に奇跡的に起こった「友情」をテーマにしています。
The theme of Joyeux Noël is a "friendship," which miraculously realized on Christmas Eve, between the soldiers of UK&France and their foe Germany.
普段は敵対しあっている国同士が、ドイツ軍側で聖歌が流れたことがきっかけに、３国の中尉同士が話し合った結果、この日だけはお互い戦闘は止め仲良く互いに聖なる日を祝おうと決めたわけです。
The Allied Powers and Germany are usually exchange fires, but after hymn was sung from the German side, the lieutenants of these three nations consulted and decided one-day cease fire to celebrate this holy day together.
これほど大規模な戦争の最中に１日だけとは言え敵同士が仲良く交流する例は僕自身ほとんど知らなかったので、とても感動しました。
I was touched because I never heard stories that enemies holding a friendship event during such a great war like WWI before even if it was only for one day.
いまの世の中を見ていると互いが互いを憎み合い、「正義」の名のもと堂々と殺戮行為は行われているけど、よくよく考えてみると誰も殺し合いを心の底から望んでいる人達はいないはずです。
As you turn your eyes to today's world, you can see many people hate each other, and violent mass killings are easily done in the name of "justice." But if you stop for a moment and think, you can realize that there is no such people who wants killing from the bottom of their heart.
この映画は、例え心底互いを憎み合っていても、個人の力で「平和」を勝ち取ることができる、世の中から争いをなくすことが可能なんだということを、教えてくれます。
This film teaches people that even if you hate each other badly, "peace" can be brought by personal efforts, and it is possible to eliminate war from this world.
