Arsenal, the FA Cup title holder, lifted its first trophy of the season 2014/15, beating the reigning English Premier League champion Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday and gave momentum to the team for its first league game against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The game moved in the 21st minute when Santi Cazorla fired his left to the back of the net; in the 42th minute, Aaron Ramsey added the second.  The Gunners clinched the game by Oliver Giroud's breathtaking left foot shot in the 60th minute.

The quality of football that the Gunners squad showed was surely a good sign that the team can perform at a higher level and even win the league title this season for the first time in 11 years.

The result is a lot to do with manager Arsene Wenger's 18-year effort building the platform of the club and adding new players who performed well in the World Cup this summer.

Arsenal acquired Chilean international Alexis Sánchez from Spanish giant Barcelona and Colombian international David Ospina from French side Nice.  Also, Costa Rican international Joel Campbell is back from 1 year loan from Greek side Olympiacos.

As an ardent Gunners fan, I would like to see the team thrashing the visitor Crystal Palace and begin the new season with full confidence and joy!
