STEFFY’S DIARY
Days, months, and year passed…every day is a new beginning. I began to think a bit over the past seventeen months since I started my job here. As my mind tends to do, I began to think in terms of lists :). So I decided to compile a list of my most memorable teaching moments for this year. Before I’ll start let me give a short overview of the teachers in B&D.
B&D teachers are cheerful, knowledgeable, outgoing, professional, candid, responsible, observant, objective, realistic, creative, talented, hard-working, collaborative, funny, strong-willed, facilitator, open-minded, helpful, trustworthy and the most important one is teachers are “kawaii” :-D
“A teacher presents the past, reveals the present and creates the future.”
Here are My Most Memorable Teaching Moments in 2017 & 2018:
HAPPIEST MOMENT: My happiest moment in B&D is when I teach, play with the Japanese children. It really help me a lot since I am a preschool teacher. And also, a mingle activity gives students numerous opportunities to interact with teachers. Where we went to different places and do sightseeing. We really enjoyed a lot, we talk, take pictures, and eat a lot of food. Aside from this, we also had a “karaoke “but I’m not a good singer. Few weeks ago, we had our first movie marathon together with the students and some teachers.
FUNNIEST MOMENT: During my class with one of my student, we had a truth or dare game. I lose the game at that time, so my student decided my dare. 1st dare is I should not wear a slipper the whole day. So I was barefooted during my classes.
SADDEST MOMENT: Graduation day! I consider it as my saddest moment because it’s like everyone will say goodbye to each other. People come and go. Everyone that’s been in our life has been there for a reason, we teach, we care, or to collect happy moments. Regardless, of staying short time in school we still gain a lot of good memories with the students before they go back to Japan.
MOST TOUCHING MOMENT: Before graduation day, I often received letters and souvenirs from the students. One student wrote, “Thank you Steffy for teaching me English. You are my best adviser. I like your pretty smile!” :)
MOMENT WHEN I FELT MOST PROUD OF MY STUDENTS: When they became more confident to talk in front especially during graduation speech. At first some students is having a hard time to speak and understand English but they have their own determination to give their best shot.
