/ @angelnomad for more content about canada and other countries :) I left Canada about 1.5 years ago to travel the world and here are some of the top reasons why I left. I give a lot of my own personal anecdotes as someone who has lived in canada for over 20 years. This video represents my personal opinion about living in canada and why I prefer to live in Asia or other countries. The main reasons. why people are leaving 1. High living costs creates a low standard of living, especially in Vancouver and Toronto. 2. Lack of infrustructure for transportation which means you need to have a car in order to get around 3. Brain drain and lack of opportunities because most talent go to the states 4. Lack of medical healthcare because most people can’t find a family doctor or are finding it difficult to find one 5. カナダで、家賃や不動産価格の高騰から路上生活者が急増している。
東部ケベック（Quebec）州では、路上生活者は大都市であるモントリオールが中心だったが、9月に公表された報告書によると、2人に1人は農村部で生活していた。
モントリオール東方80キロに位置する人口7万人の町グランビー（Granby）に住むダニー・ブロダールコテさん（39）は、数か月前から墓地に近い森の中でテント生活を送っている。恋人とアパートを借りていたが、6月に退去を迫られた。
用務員として「週5日」働いている。「住める場所がほとんどないのは、家賃が高過ぎるから」だと話した。
数ブロック先の公園は、老若男女が野宿をする仮設のキャンプサイトと化している。ブロダールコテさんのように定職に就いている人もいる。
ケベック州政府の報告書によれば、路上生活者となった4人に1人近くは、家に住み続けられなくなったことが原因だ。
2018～22年に州内のホームレス人口は44％増加し、昨年1万人に達した。反貧困団体の代表を務めるカリーヌ・ルシエ（Karine Lussier）氏によれば、カナダの人口の5％を占める先住民族の中でも特に先住民イヌイット（Inuit）が多いという。
グランビーのジュリー・ブルドン（Julie Bourdon）市長はAFPに対し、市はキャンプサイトを解体して居住者を別の場所に移動させるより、「許容地域」として、現状を維持することを選んだと説明した。
こうした状況は氷山の一角にすぎないと指摘するのは、首都オタワから川を隔てた対岸に位置する、人口30万人弱のガティノー（Gatineau）のフランス・ベリル（France Belisle）市長だ。州がまとめた報告書の数値は「1年前のもの」だと話す。
今年に入りインフレが加速する中で、現状は統計よりはるかに悪いと懸念する。
「もはや収入の範囲内でやり繰りできるレベルではなくなっている」と話した
出勤前に川で体を洗うのが日課
国内で人口が2番目に多いケベック州は、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大や記録的な移民流入など、さまざまな要因で人口が増加し、深刻な住宅不足が起きている。
しかし、ケベック州のみならず、全国的に路上生活者が急増していると専門家は警鐘を鳴らしている。
ウェスタンオンタリオ大学（University of Western Ontario）のシェリル・フォーチャック（Cheryl Forchuk）教授は、政府の統計では路上生活者は全国で約23万5000人とされているが、これは保護施設に入所している人数にすぎないと指摘する。
「実際の人数は、連邦政府による現在の推計の3倍に上る恐れがある」と話した。
ジャスティン・トルドー（Justin Trudeau）首相も先月、「収入が十分にある人でさえ住居の確保に苦労している状況にある」と認めた。
反貧困団体のルシエ氏は、支援を受けずに路上生活から抜け出すのは現実には不可能だと話す。
「私たちは憤り、悲しんでいる。何年も前からずっと、『気を付けて。人道危機が迫っている』と警告してきた」と話した。
ブロダールコテさんは、手頃な価格の住まいを見つける希望をまだ捨てていない。だが、今のところは、出勤前に近くの川で体を洗う日課を続けるしかない。
