Linux might not be a stranger to some of you and probably heard of it before already...but there are lot of concern for people to use such an advance and free OS.
While i say Linux OS is great for people who just want a simple OS to do your basic usage,that will include watching videos and listening to music.
Some of you already know what is VLC player,VLC player is a player that able to play your videos without any codec pack installed (except Real codec).It support Windows,Mac OSX and Linux...therefore VLC will be a great player if you are using Linux.I am using VLC for my video playback on my Ubuntu.
While VLC don't support Real videos,you can use Totem Movie Player to watch RMVB files...it will automatically get all the require codec for you when you wish to open a video.
For listening to your songs,Linux offer quite a range of music players and if you worry about syncing with your ipod or whatever...those softwares do have the ability to sync your ipod.I am using Banshee player,it is a great music player with a very same feel of iTunes.
You can see from the screenshot that the player give you a range of great features.One of them is by listening to your favourite song,it will also try to grab YouTube results for you on that particular song you listening to.So at the same time,you can also go watch the music video of the song you listening to.It also able to grab information on Wikipedia and also Last.fm recommendation.
