Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security has expanded a major investigation into a transnational diamond smuggling ring, indicting four prominent gold shop owners based in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to an official announcement from the Ministry, investigative authorities have exposed a highly sophisticated criminal operation designed to illegally import luxury gemstones into the country.
The syndicate utilized established, high-profile local jewelry storefronts to integrate and distribute the illicit diamonds directly into the consumer market. Police are continuing to widen the dragnet to trace the origins of the smuggling chain and completely dismantle the illicit financial pipeline.
