DEFENDING CHAMPION TENERIFE MARICHAL TO HOST FINAL FOUR
Luxembourg, January 26, 2005.Following the ten League Rounds of the Women’s Indesit European Champions’ League 2004/05, six teams have qualified for the home & away play-off round with the organiser TENERIFE Marichal automatically qualifying for the Final Four.
Foppapedretti BERGAMO (ITA), RC CANNES (FRA), Hotel Cantur LAS PALMAS (ESP), as well as Sant’Orsola Asystel NOVARA (ITA), TENERIFE Marichal (ESP) and Azerrail BAKU (AZE) were the teams that finished in the top three positions of Pool A, respectively Pool B, thus having qualified for the six-team playoff round. However, following the decision of the CEV Executive Committee to grant the organisation of the Final Four to TENERIFE Marichal, the IECL 2003/04 titleholder from the Canary Islands has automatically qualified for the Final Four, thus avoiding the participation in the play-off round. As a result of this and according to the fixed regulations, the fourth ranked team from the League Round pool of the Final Four organiser (Pool B), which is Besiktas ISTANBUL from Turkey, automatically takes the empty spot.
Foppapedretti（イタリア）、RC CANNES（フランス）、Hotel Cantur（スペイン）のみならず、Sant’Orsola Asystel（イタリア）、 Marichal（スペイン）、Azerrail（アゼルバイジャン）も、各Pool-A.Bで上位3位に入り、それ故、 6チームが進めるPlay-offラウンドへの出場資格を得たチームである。 しかしながら、 Final Fourの主催をTenerife Marichalに認めるCEV実行委員会の決定に従って、カナリア諸島（アフリカ北西岸近くにある；スペイン領）出身のIECL2003-04年のタイトル保持チームが、 自動的にFinal Fourへの出場資格を得たので、それ故に、Play-offラウンドには参加しない。 この結果として、又、確立されている規則に従って、Tenerife Marichal（Pool-B）がFinal Four主催チームであるために、 League Roundで4位にランクされているチーム（トルコのBesiktas ISTANBUL）が自動的に、空きポストを得る。
