Best Female Volleyball Player 2006: Lioubov KILIC (Russia)
The 29-year-old Muscovite's success story is marked by various highlights, only recently crowned with the World Championship gold medal after two European Championship titles in 1999 and 2001. During her career, the clubs she joined throughout Europe were guaranteed to win their national championship or cup thanks to her: 2001 Turkish Championship and Cup, 2004 Italian Championship, 2005 Italian Cup, 2006 Spanish Cup and in February 2007 Champion in Spain's Cup ('Copa de la Reina') with MURCIA followed by Europe's Top Teams Cup where she was nominated MVP of the Final Four, and these were only a few of her outstanding successes. Apart from several nominations as 'Best Server' and 'Best Receiver', she was awarded 'Most Valuable Player' six times within the past three years, honouring her individual qualities.
