After buying the needed shirt at HUMAN, I and Me-Ann decided to hit home right away.
We were at the 2nd floor of the mall that time, so we still need to go down one floor using the escalator.
As we tread down, a girl's shrill voice rang out all of sudden from the adjacent escalator going up.
An enthusiastic voice that said, "Hi Teacher!".
As I turn my gaze towards the voice. . .
I saw a young Korean girl around 6 or 8 years old pointing at me while
clinging to her mom with her relatives lined up behind them ALL looking at me.
I was caught suprised so I did what I think was best that moment ( teacher's instincts).
I waved back to the girl, smiled as brightly as I can to match her delighted face
and in the most enthusiastic voice I can muster replied, "Oh! Hi there !".
Now here is the CATCH.
I have no idea who that young sweet kid was.
I don't even recognize her face.
And I don't even think she's one of the kids from the school where I am working, that I am very certain.
I've been working with this certain small-sized exclusive school for 3 years already to the point
I know every kid by face may it be an old student, newcomer or a transferee in the middle of the year.
I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHO THAT KID WAS.
It was a case of MISTAKEN IDENTITY.
I know I shoudn't have pretended since it feels like fooling a young girl.
but then. . .
The countenance on her face was a picture of sweet fondness coupled by an expectant look.
I just can't put her down by ignoring her cheerful greetings.
Plus, I don't like making kids feel disappointed and unwanted.
'Coz I know how that feels.
