So if Kafka on the Shore have Mrs. Saeki and Oshima.
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle have Nutmeg Akasaka and Cinnamon Akasaka.
And if Oshima captured my fancy on Kafka on the Shore.,
for Wind-Up Bird it's Cinnamon !

So who is this fictional character?
Cinnamon is the adult son of Nutmeg (both pseudonyms to conceal their real identities)
who stopped talking the day he turned 6 after he witnessed a paranormal incident.
Tohru Okada describes Cinnamon as a slim young man with short hair,
small sharp nose, crsytalline clear eyes with a pleasant smile and regular features.
Possibly the handsomest man he had ever seen in his life.
He also pointed out how stylish he is with any clothes he wears that perfectly fits him.
Clothes probably picked by Nutmeg who is an O.C. fashion designer.
He never said a single word throughout the book as an adult Cinnamon but he was able to
effectively communicate with other people through
comprehensible body gestures, eye contact and mouthing words.
He likes listening to Classical music and reading books (something very Oshima-ish).
A computer whiz and a handy-man (points at the Porsche car he re-created from an old one).
I could go on and on raving about him but still it wouldn't be enough.
So I'll just stop here.
P.S.
I just like how perfectly imperfect he is.
I am totally drawn towards Cinnamon beacuse of how Murakami built this
highly intellectual mysterious non-talking character.
I find him SO impressive and attractive.
(Fine. I really can't keep myself from thinking out loud)
