I'm teary-eyed.
One of the Special kids I'm handling in Grade 3, the one diagnosed with Learning Disability
received his latest post-test reading assessment result.
Last June, his pre-test result yielded a score of --> 0. As in one sparkling ZERO.
NOW.
His post-test score result is 392 !
Well, it is still below average for his grade level but a milestone for him.
You should witness how his face lit up with vivacity, a big smile painted on his face
when their Reading teacher announced it to the whole class.
He was beaming from ear to ear and exclaimed,
"Finally! I have a score after long years of ZERO.!"
I feel so happy for the kid and his new found confidence.
It seems attacking his Learning Disability not just with books
but with praises and positive words boosted his confidence.
P.S.
Wait.
Did I just use R.E.B.T to him unknowingly?
