There's this Grade 3 student at school diagnosed with Autism.
Since he is in a mainstream class setting, his social impairement is quite obvious.
He is not in the same class as the kids I check everyday but everytime I see him
I always try to strike a conversation with him which is always futile.
The kid being an introvert would always stare back at me.
I don't know why I keep on doing it even if I know he won't talk back to me yet
I would still greet him every morning and lunch looking like an idiot because he won't say
anything not even an eye-twitch or any minute change in facial expression.
It has always like this ever since JUNE.
Then awhile ago, while I bade goodbye to my boss
and thanked her for backing me up during the meeting I heard a kid shout.
" GOODBYE Teacher Benj ! ! ! !"
When I turned my back and looked for the source of the noise. . .
I saw that same kid who never talks back at me difference is
instead of the emotionless and quite face. . .
What I saw was a kid bouncing off towards the school gate waving back at me.
oh! by the way,
MY REACTION WAS SOMETHING LIKE THIS
∑ヾ( ̄0 ̄;ノ "Did he just shout at me???????"
∑ヾ( ̄0 ̄;ノ "But that kid doesn't talk to anyone not unless you force him during recitations!!!!"
ε=ε=ε= ヾ(*~▽~)ノ
Well I'm happy.
At least I was able to make a little kid talk somehow~
Even if it's in a form of shouting~
LOL!
