 『 the Missing Piece 』

- NO STORY SITS BY ITSELF -

 『Schnitzel with Noodles』

You can’t expect less from the likes of Ken Watanabe.
So when the film started and the story about a man in his 50’s
struggling from Alzheimer’s disease rolled, I was emotionally moved.

I was seated next to Aia-chi so I was trying my best to keep my tears
from rolling down my cheeks but still,
a couple escaped from my eyes during the most sensitive parts of the movie.

It reminds me of a Filipino film entitled, “Tanging Yaman”
which I also watched when I was still in my 3rd year in high school
as a requirement for 2 of my subjects back then.

I totally recommend this film to those who have not watched it.

This film really is something and the performance by both Ken Watanabe and Higuchi Kanako
was infectious you would feel the emotions they are trying to convey as you intently watch the film.

The struggles and frustrations of Saeki (Ken Watanabe)
and the perseverance and love of his wife, Emiko (Higuchi Kanako)
in spite of the looming effects of Alzheimer’s disease
as it slowly disintegrates their marriage left a strong impression on me.

Something I can not put into words right now or describe clearly.
