PARADOX = A statement that seems impossible but makes sense
= A statement that contradicts itself

Examples of PARADOX:

1. Rewards are not always proportional to effort.

2. You achieve your goal only to realize that it's not what you wanted!

OXYMORON = from the Greek word which means "sharp-dull"
= speech in which incongruous or contradictory terms appear side by side

Examples of OXYMORON:
1. "O miserable abundance, O beggarly riches!"
2. He was clearly misunderstood.

IRONY = from Greek which means, "feigned ignorance"
= The use of words to convey the opposite of their literal meaning.

Examples of IRONY:
1. He's handsome if you like rodents.
2. Its like rain on your wedding day
Its a free ride when youve already paid
Its the good advice that you just didnt take
