 『 the Missing Piece 』

- NO STORY SITS BY ITSELF -

This morning, I have to drop by at the pre-school department to substitute for the absent SPED teacher.
My sempais were teasing me since I'll be designated to the most difficult level in Special Education.

Unlike the Grade 6, among the 23 kids in class there are only 3 special kids I'm in-charge of.
The rest are under the regular teacher's supervision.

At the pre-school level, there are 20 kids and 6 of them are Special. Since there are 2 regular teacher and 2 Special Education teacher I'll only be handling the other 3 special kids.

I took it lightly thinking that if I managed to deal with cases of Mental Retardation, Autism and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in a Grade 6 class setting how much more here where there are 3 teachers to help me.

But I was wrong, since the 3 kids given to me were all cases of Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with one of them exhibiting signs of classical autism (Sidenote: No eye contact, poor gross and fine motor skills, etc.)
