For their SINGLE entitled “AGAIN”,
I give this band ☆☆☆☆☆ out of 5.
I’m relatively new to ZeXeR and have not yet listened to all of their songs.
Yet, after listening to this SINGLE they caught my attention in a snap.
The fast rhythm and beat of the track “AGAIN” compliments the vocalist’s voice without overdoing it.
It smoothly accompanies it throughout the song.
Now with the 2nd track, “BREAKER” it gave me this ‘ア ン グ ラ けい ’ (angura-kei) impression as the track starts but eventually, it shifts back to ZeXer’s alternative rock style then goes back to the ‘angura kei-like’ sound and vice versa. I think its dark rock sound can be attributed to the growling and the fast dark sound of the guitar and bass.
Moving on with the last track, “流星群" (RYUUSEIGUN), this one is my favorite!
I mean I love all three but this one tops the list.
It’s kind of hard to explain but I fell for this because of its transparency.
Honestly, I can’t understand the lyrics but the emotions were pretty clear on each beat, rhythm and phrase. Not to mention, the relaxing melody produced by the piano (I wonder who plays the keyboards for ZeXeR).
Well, you know what?
I have no idea of the lyrics since my Japanese vocabulary is VERY POOR.
But one thing is for sure.
Whenit comes to MUSIC, THERE ARE NO BOUNDARIES. . .
and LANGUAGE is DEFINITELY NOT a BARRIER in MUSIC.
Music is like magic.
There seem to be some sort of charm or spell that controls over without you knowingit.
I hope I make sense.
