外人を浅草に連れて行った時に
“のれん”を見て「あれは何だ」と
聞かれたことがあります。簡単な
説明を覚えておきましょう。

curtain（カートゥン）カーテン
entrance（エントランス）入口
sunshade（サンシェイド）日よけ

It is a half-curtains hung over the
entrances of Japanese restaurants
and other stores.

It shows the name and type of stores
and acts as the sign that the stores
open and service is provided.

It is originally used as the sunshade.

コックさんはchefまたはcook（クック）です。
発音を間違えてコックというと男性の大事な所の
意味になっちゃいます。
