大相撲（４）

大相撲の九州場所が真っ盛りです。
そこで以前３回ほど説明した大相撲に
関連した言葉を上げてみます。

（四股）
相撲を取る前の準備運動的なものだが、
土俵（ring）上にひそんでいる（lurk）
悪魔（evil spirit）を踏み潰す（crush）と
いう象徴的（symbolic）な行動を意味する。

When the wrestlers raise their legs high
and stamp them onto the ring, they are
symbolically crushing any evil spirits
lurking there.
