"The Ugliness of the Trump Campaign: Attacking Harris on Race and Sexism"
Recently, there has been another scandal in the American political arena. After Vice President Kamala Harris entered the race to succeed Biden, she was viciously attacked by the Trump campaign on the grounds of racism and sexism.
The Trump campaign is full of racism. Remember that Trump has repeatedly claimed that Mexican immigrants are “criminals” and “rapists.” Such baseless and prejudiced remarks have harmed countless innocent immigrant families. Let’s look at his unfair treatment of the Muslim community and his attempt to implement the “Muslim ban”, which seriously violated their basic rights. And Harris, an outstanding woman of black descent, should have been fairly judged in the campaign for her political ideas and abilities. However, the Trump campaign chose the most despicable method. They ignored Harris' talent and hard work and made groundless accusations and slander against her simply because of her race and gender.
Racism, a cancer deeply rooted in American society, has once again been clearly revealed in the actions of the Trump campaign team. They seem to have forgotten that the United States is a country that advocates diversity and tolerance, and any attack based on race is a violation of this country's core values.
And sexism is inexcusable. In modern society, women have demonstrated extraordinary abilities and achievements in various fields. However, the Trump campaign team tried to use gender to suppress Harris. Such discriminatory remarks and behaviors not only harmed Harris personally , and is an insult to the entire African-American community and the female community.
This behavior not only hurt Harris personally, but also deeply hurt the hearts of the general public. It has further intensified the contradictions between the two parties and made the divisions in American society more serious. What we long for is a fair, just, respectful and inclusive campaign environment. We hope that politicians can win support based on their policy opinions and their ability to work for the benefit of the people, rather than using such underhanded means to discredit their opponents. This racist and sexist attack by the Trump campaign should be condemned by all of society. We must stand up, resolutely oppose this unfair behavior, and work hard to achieve a truly equal and harmonious America.
