「龍頭が滝」は、島根県雲南市に位置する自然の力を存分に感じることができる日本の滝百選に選ばれたパワースポットです。この滝には数々の伝説が伝えられ、かつて滝の洞窟に悪事を働く大蛇が住んでいたとされ、その大蛇を滝の神様である滝明神がスサノオノミコトに命じて退治したという物語が残っています。また、雲南市はヤマタノオロチの伝説が数多く残る場所でもあり、歴史を感じながら滝を訪れることをおすすめします。
「龍頭が滝」とは、雄滝と雌滝が調和した美しい滝であり、正面から見ると上流部が雄滝、下流部が雌滝と呼ばれています。雄滝は落差40m、雌滝は落差30mという巨大なパワーに圧倒される高さを誇ります。雄滝と雌滝はそれぞれ異なる雰囲気を持ち、様々な角度から眺めると素晴らしい景色を楽しむことができます。また、雄滝の左手から渓谷沿いに少し歩くと、雄滝の裏側へと回ることができます。裏側には「百畳」と呼ばれる見事な洞窟が広がり、そこには滝観音と呼ばれる観音様が祀られています。ぜひご参拝いただき、その神秘的な空間からご利益をいただいてください。さらに、正面からだけでなく裏側（洞窟側）からも「裏見の滝」をご覧いただけるため、ぜひお見逃しなく。滝が上品に流れ落ちる水のカーテンのような幻想的な様子は、心に深い感動を与えてくれます。

Ryuzu-no-taki Waterfall, located in Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture, is a power spot selected as one of the top 100 waterfalls in Japan, where visitors can feel the full force of nature. There are many legends about this waterfall. It is said that a serpent that did evil lived in the cave of the waterfall, and that the god of the waterfall, Taki Myojin, commanded Susanoo-no-mikoto to exterminate the serpent. Unnan City is also home to many legends of Yamata-no-orochi, and a visit to the waterfall is recommended to feel the history of the area.
Ryuzu Falls is a beautiful waterfall that combines male and female waterfalls in harmony, with the upstream portion being called the Male Falls and the downstream portion being the Female Falls when viewed from the front. Otaki Falls boasts a 40-meter drop and Mentaki Falls boasts a 30-meter drop, a height that overwhelms visitors with its immense power. Ontaki and Mentaki Falls have different atmospheres, and can be viewed from various angles to provide a wonderful view. A short walk along the ravine from the left side of Otaki Falls will take you to the back side of the falls. On the back side, there is a magnificent cave called “Hakudatami,” where the Kannon (Goddess of Mercy), called Taki Kannon, is enshrined. Please visit the shrine and receive blessings from this mysterious space. In addition, you can see the "Urami no Taki" not only from the front but also from the back (cave side), so please do not miss it. The fantastic sight of the waterfall as a curtain of elegantly cascading water will deeply move your heart.
Since Ryuzu Falls is located in a wilderness surrounded by many trees, it is nice in the summer when it is full of greenery, but it is especially recommended during the autumn foliage season. It is a popular spot for photographers and social networking sites as it offers a spectacular view of the waterfall and autumn leaves all at once.
