だんだん近づくAomameとTengoの距離。
今日はなんだか抽象的で難しかった。
250ページ通過。はるか先に折り返しが見える。
リタイヤせずになんとかフィニッシュ出来るかもしれない。
今日ひろった表現。
「One glance was all it took for Aomame to realize that …」
これは面白い表現。かつ、使えそう。
「一目見ただけで…と分かった」と言うときの表現だ。
「…, that was probably it.」は、「まあ、そんなところだろう」の意。
「We can't let there be anymore victims.」は「これ以上犠牲者をだしてはならない」の意味だが、「there」を使うのがミソ。
「Her fingers toyed with the top buttons.」は「いじくる」の意味だがtoyを使うとは。
「I wanted to be sure to tell you this in person, which is why I troubled you to come here today.」は「あなたに直接お話したくて、わざわざ来ていただいた」。なかなか、出てこない、こんな表現。
「Yes, now that you mention it.」は「言われてみると、そうです」
Mmmm、勉強になる。
