President Obama is vacationing in Hawaii with his family. They are staying in a private house in Kailua. Kailua Beach is one of my favorite beaches. Sunday Night , they went to dinner at Alan Wong's Restaurant. They say it is his favorite restaurant.
Choices on Alan Wong's Restaurant's Christmas menu included Ahi Tartare, Three Crab Dumpling with Garlic Black Pepper Gravy, Hudson Valley Duck Curry, and a "Surf 'n' Turf" with Maui Cattle Company Beef Tenderloin and Butter-Poached Lobster with Truffle Puree.
On the menu for New Year's Eve are small appetizers including a Kona Lobster Crostini and a Wagyu Beef Skewer with Miso Vinaigrette, and entrees including Colorado Lamb Wellington and Ginger-Crusted Onaga. Desserts for the occasion are Kula Strawberries and Champagne, Plantation Style Strawberry Hibiscus Ice Cream Bombe, and a Carbonated Yuzu Curd with Crispy Meringue and Champagne Caviar.
