【作品について】
「Mind Games」は、ボードゲーム「オセロ／リバーシ」のルールに基づき、グリッド上で2色の絵具を交互に重ねながら画面を構築する作品です。スタンピングやドロッピングといった反復的な手法を通して、行為とルール、偶然性と統制の関係性を可視化しています。絵具のマチエールに宿る偶然性は、他者との関係性やコミュニケーションのあり方を抽象的に映し出します。
「Mind Games – I am Here」は、2017年よりライブペインティング形式で継続的に制作されており、いまだ完成には至っていません。制作初期は、密室でひとり、白と黒の絵具をひたすらスタンピングし、終わりのないオセロゲームを繰り返しました。そのゲームの進行は一枚一枚写真に記録され、つなげてストップモーションムービーとして展開されました。
その後は参加型のライブペインティング兼ワークショップとして公開されるようになり、2020年のコロナ禍には再びひとりで密室にこもり“ゲーム”を続けました。このゲームは、まだ終わることのない挑戦として現在も継続しています。
Mind Games is a series built on the rules of the board game Othello/Reversi, in which two colors of paint are layered alternately on a grid. Through repetitive techniques such as stamping and dropping, the work visualizes the relationships between action and rules, chance and control. The accidental qualities inherent in the paint’s texture abstractly reflect human relationships and modes of communication.
Mind Games – I am Here has been produced continuously in a live painting format since 2017 and remains unfinished. In its early stages, the artist worked alone in a closed room, stamping black and white paint endlessly in a seemingly infinite Othello game. The progress of the game was documented photograph by photograph and compiled into stop-motion films.
Later, the project evolved into participatory live painting and workshops. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the artist again retreated alone into a closed room to continue the “game.” This game remains an ongoing challenge, still in progress today.

【作品について】
《グリッドの中の風景》は、《Mind Games》のオセロ・ペインティングから派生したシリーズです。街のフェンスや石畳、ビルの窓、格子状の壁など、グリッド要素を含む風景を印画紙やポラロイドにプリントし、その上にオセロ・ペインティングを重ねています。
細いチューブ状のアクリル絵の具を小さなドットとして、オセロゲームのルールに沿って積み重ねることで、平面写真に奥行きのレイヤーを生み出します。ポラロイドの退色する特性は、変わりゆく都市の風景のメタファーとなり、その上に絵の具を積むことで、人間の営みが新たに構築されていく様子を表現しています。
Landscapes in the Grid is a series derived from the Mind Games Othello paintings. Urban scenes containing grid elements—such as fences, cobblestones, building windows, and lattice walls—are printed on photographic paper or Polaroid film, over which Othello-style painting is applied.
Using thin tubes of acrylic paint, small dots are layered according to the rules of Othello, creating a sense of depth (Z-axis) on the flat photographic surface (XY-plane). The natural fading of Polaroid film over time serves as a metaphor for the changing cityscape. By layering paint atop it, the work expresses the construction of new human activity over a landscape in transition.
