English version:
If my memory serves me correctly,
I nearly died once last August.
While dealing with ongoing symptoms of
ulcerative colitis, in an effort to improve
my condition, I was fasting and drastically
reducing my carbohydrate intake.
When I unconsciously drank some apple juice, my body couldn't handle it, and I experienced
something close to a heart attack.
I genuinely thought, "Oh, I might die."
Everything appeared in slow motion,
and while admiring my mother and father
for handling the situation calmly and
composedly, I wished in my heart:
"My work isn't finished yet, I haven't made
everyone happy yet."
Afterwards, I went to the hospital, received an IV drip, and somehow managed to survive this experience.
Because of this, for me, life is fleeting, fragile, and something that can be easily lost.
Moreover, I vowed in my heart to become
someone who could support the basic lives of as many people as possible.
I decided to work towards creating a society
where everyone, regardless of country or race, can help each other and reach greater heights.
After that, despite opposition from my family
and teachers, I returned to the United States
to study abroad because there was someone I desperately wanted to see.
Of course, even after returning to America,
I continued to face the symptoms of ulcerative colitis day after day. I've reached a point
where I can manage it to some extent through diet, but I feel like I might be lacking that final push.
Recently, I heard about someone with
ulcerative colitis whose condition was caused by H. pylori bacteria. So, I thought about
getting tested and bought a test kit, but I
failed to use it properly.
It was simply my mistake. The task of
pricking my finger with a needle to draw blood is relatively simple, but I'm not good with
needles. Despite managing to prick my
fingertip, I couldn't collect the blood
successfully, resulting in failure.
Since I purchased it in the U.S.,
I couldn't find the exact same kit,
but I found a similar type of test kit that
might be worth trying.
The person who told me about H. pylori being the cause of their ulcerative colitis said that
after taking medication for two weeks, he
could basically able to eat without discomfort.
However, he experienced ulcerative colitis for a certain period, so they mentioned that their colon hadn't fully healed yet.
I plan to get tested again in Japan and start
treatment if H. pylori is discovered.
I apologize if any of this information is
incorrect. I haven't tried it myself and
don't have definitive results yet,
but I wanted to share this in case it could help someone suffering from ulcerative colitis.
To return to my story, through this process,
when I started studying business and social
structures in June, I explored various options
and thought I found the answer in the Islamic Quran.
Since I didn't believe in Islam, I decided to start reading from the message to non-believers.
Usually, one would start with
Surah 1 Al-Fatihah,
but I began with Surah 114 An-Nas.
Somehow, it felt more fitting for me.
I'm still a beginner, so I might be able to
answer some basic questions, but my learning is incomplete. It's probably best to read
the Quran multiple times and learn from someone who is actively trying to understand God's words truly.
It's better not to read it all at once because it was overwhelming for me. As a Japanese
person, there were some things that were
difficult to accept, so it's better to read and
understand gradually. If you feel overwhelmed, take a break and do something else.
So far, I think there are few teachings that I,
as a Japanese person, find difficult to accept.
Everything starts with learning the basics,
so there's no need to rush.
That's what I want to tell myself. 😂
With that said, have a good day, everyone.
Peace upon you.
