🎌 5月4日は、祝日の「みどりの日」です。

自然に親しむとともにその恩恵に感謝し、豊かな心をはぐくむ日です。

May 4th is Greenery Day, a national holiday.

It is a day to get close to nature, appreciate its benefits, and nurture a rich heart.

みどりの日は、平成元年の「国民の祝日に関する法律」の改正１により設けられた「国民の祝日」であり、「自然に親しむとともにその恩恵に感謝し、豊かな心をはぐくむ」日とされています。

Greenery Day is a national holiday established in 1989 by revision 1 of the Law Concerning National Holidays.

It is a day to "get close to nature, appreciate its blessings, and nurture a rich heart."

平成元年の法改正では、我が国は緑豊かな自然を持った国であることにかんがみ、この自然に親しむとともにその恩恵に感謝し、豊かな心をはぐくむことを願い、それまで天皇誕生日であった4月29日が「みどりの日」とされました。

In the revision of the law in R1(1989), considering that Japan is a country with abundant greenery,

We hope that you will become familiar with this nature, appreciate its benefits, and nurture a rich heart.

April 29, which had been the Emperor's birthday until then, was designated as Greenery Day.

また、平成17年の法改正２により、平成19年から、4月29日が昭和の日とされるとともに、みどりの日は5月4日に変更されました。

In 2005, the 2nd amendment to the law changed April 29th to Showa Day and Greenery Day to May 4th from 2007.

これは、みどりの日の意義にかんがみ、祝日の増加による影響にも配慮３しつつ、青葉若葉の時節であり、ゴールデンウイーク中の一日である5月4日をみどりの日とすることとされたものです。

In light of the significance of Greenery Day and the impact of an increase in the number of national holidays,

Greenery Day was decided to be May 4th, which is the time of young green leaves and one day during Golden Week.

みどりの日について、国民の関心と理解を一層促進し、「みどり」についての国民の造詣を深めるため、「みどりの月間」（４月１５日から５月１４日）と「みどりの学術賞」が設けられています。詳細は説明欄に、内閣府みどりの学術賞のURLを添付しています。

Greenery Month is provided (April 15th to May 14th). and the Greenery Academic Award are held to further promote public interest and understanding of Greenery Day and to deepen public knowledge of greenery.

世界の安寧を望むには、まずは自分の国の安寧から。

「国民の祝日」には、皆で、国旗を揚げたいものです。

To wish for peace in the world, first start with peace in your own country.

■舞台向かって左にあるのが、左方（唐楽による舞楽）に使われる大太鼓です。

縁飾りには、阿吽の昇龍、鼓面が三つ巴で、竿先に日輪がついています。

On the left side of the stage is the large drum used for the left side (bugaku performed by Karagaku).
The rim decoration includes Aun's rising dragon, a three-Tomoe drum mask, and a sun ring on the tip of the pole.

■向かって右にあるのが、右方（高麗楽による舞楽）に使用される大太鼓。

縁飾りには、鳳凰、鼓面が二つ巴で、竿先には月輪がついています。

The one on the right is the large drum used for the right side (bugaku performed by Komagaku).
The rim decoration includes a phoenix, a two-Tomoe drum masks, and a moon ring is attached to the tip of the pole.
