4月29日は、祝日の「昭和の日」です。

激動の日々を経て、復興を遂げた昭和の時代を顧み、国の将来に思いをいたす日です。

April 29th is a public holiday called Showa Day.

It is a day to look back on the Showa era, which achieved reconstruction after the turbulent days, and to think about the future of the country.

昭和の日は、平成１７年の「国民の祝日に関する法律」の改正１により、平成１９年から設けられた「国民の祝日」であり、

「激動の日々を経て、復興を遂げた昭和の時代を顧み、国の将来に思いをいたす」日とされています。

Showa Day is a national holiday established in 2007 by revision 1 of the Law Concerning National Holidays in 2005.

It is a day to look back on the Showa era, which achieved reconstruction after the turbulent days, and to think about the future of the country.

６０年余りに及ぶ昭和の時代は、未曽有の激動と変革、苦難と復興の時代でした。

今日の日本は、このような時代の礎の上に築かれたものであり、昭和の時代を顧み、歴史的教訓を酌み取ることによって、平和国家、日本のあり方に思いをいたし、未来への指針を学び取ることは、我が国の将来にとって極めて意義深いことです。

The 60-plus years of the Showa era were an era of unprecedented upheaval and change, hardship and recovery.

Today's Japan was built on the foundation of such an era. By looking back at the Showa era and learning the lessons of history, we can think about how Japan should be as a peace-loving nation and look forward to the future. Learning the guidelines is extremely significant for the future of our country.

I quoted this from a photo of Gagaku performed by the Imperial Household Agency.

■舞台向かって左にあるのが、左方（唐楽による舞楽）に使われる大太鼓です。

縁飾りには、阿吽の昇龍、鼓面が三つ巴で、竿先に日輪がついています。

On the left side of the stage is the large drum used for the left side (bugaku performed by Karagaku).
The rim decoration includes Aun's rising dragon, a three-Tomoe drum mask, and a sun ring on the tip of the pole.

■向かって右にあるのが、右方（高麗楽による舞楽）に使用される大太鼓。

縁飾りには、鳳凰、鼓面が二つ巴で、竿先には月輪がついています。

The one on the right is the large drum used for the right side (bugaku performed by Komagaku).
The rim decoration includes a phoenix, a two-Tomoe drum masks, and a moon ring is attached to the tip of the pole.
