and a 10.4-inch colour screen retails for $899.99. It weighs only 3.3lbs and comes with a Pentium M clocked at 1GHz. On top of that, it has 256MB memory, a 60GHB GDD, a port replicator and loads more. If you're looking for an even smaller laptop, then try that Sharp MM10 actius laptop. 2.2lbs. Can't go below that really. It coes with a Transmeta Crusoe CPU with 256MB memory, Windows XP Home Edition, built in WIFI and a 15GB HDD. Priced at $899 with a 10.4-inch screen.
Else you could also try those two Sony laptops. No warranty at all and clearly refurbished ones. The first is a Sony SR33K which is powered by a 600MHz Celeron, holds a charge and comes with 64MB memory and 6GB HDD. The second one is an older Pentium 300MHz, the Sony VAIO 505FX series which costs only $230 compared to $400 for the above. They have some bits missing and do not seems to have any optical drive. Still they make good all rounders, especially if you want only to do word processing.
However, if you're after a small Apple iBook, then check that refurbished PowerPC G3 800Mhz at $665.42. Not much details about this one. It should have 128MB memory, a 12.1inch screen, a 30GB HDD, a CDROM, an ATI Radeon 7500 card with 32MB video and integrated firewire and TV Out. Not bad at all for the price.
If you're afte the cheapest SLI motherboard on the planet. Have a look at that Biostar 4 motherboard. Seven PCI expansion slots, four DDR slots. Realtek 8 channel sound onboard, eight USB 2.0 ports, GbE LAN, four SATA II and SATA RAID enabled etc. Price asked, a cool $129. No review on the web though. µ
