So tiring... あー疲れた・・・

From Monday to Friday this week, I went to Osaka to attend a series of trainings to be an English instructor.
This is a casual position but the company I am working for has a specific teaching style so it was a challenging for me to learn their style.

Every day, we had to perform a lot of demo lessons. After the second day, I was a bit worried that if I could do their ideal lesson but I completed the training yesterday

After the training, we had an individual consultation and I got two job offers From next month, I am teaching one English class each at a private secondary school and a private uni near Kobe.

Next week, I am going to Tokyo for another company's training. If I get some jobs from them, I will be really busy.

今週は月曜から金曜まで大阪であった研修に参加してきた。

今回の研修は本当に疲れた。というのも、座って聞いてるだけじゃなくて、実践型だったから。

研修は非常勤の英語講師登録のためで、模擬授業を何回したことか。それもその場で5分とか10分もらって、
即行うというもの。模擬をした後はフィードバックをトレーナーと他の研修生からもらってというパターン。

二日目終わった時点で、本当に会社が求めている授業が出来るのが不安になったけど、
何とか最終日の模擬授業も終えて、正式登録

研修後の面談では、仕事を2件もらって、ちょっと嬉しかった
9月からは私立の中学高校と、私立大学でTOEICの講座を担当予定。

来週は、別の会社の講師研修で東京へ。忙しくなりそう・・・

丸かじり

Yesterday, I was getting a tomato from a fridge for dinner and Miya came around. At first she was looking at it and then started to eat itUntil yesterday, I always skinned and cut them into small pieces so I never imagined Miya could eat a whole tomato!.

昨日、夕ご飯にあげようと思ってたトマトを冷蔵庫から出してたら、
みやが来て、トマトを手にとって見てるなぁと思ってたら、何といきなり
かぶりついて、食べだした

今までは皮をむいて、小さめに切ったのをあげてたから、丸ごといくとは、思いもせず。

トマトが段々小さくなっていくのがわかる？

最後は手についたのまでちゃんと食べてた。

Summer dress 甚平姿

Miya is wearing a summer kimono for kids which she got from my anty. It's called Jinbei in Japanese.

As you can see, she can stand up now. Not long before she starts walking I guess.

今日は私の叔母からもらった甚平を着せてみた。

あんぱんまんの柄ので、サイズはぴったし。
来年用に、かわいいウサギさんのももらったけど、
それはやっぱり大きそうだから、今回はお預け。

Four Years! 丸四年！

昨日は、Jと付き会い始めた記念日
あれから、４年しか経ってないのがすっごく不思議
４年前には、結婚して子供が生まれて、日本に住んでなんて、
想像もしてなかったね。

記念日だから、何かしようと思ったけど、この暑さではすることが限られて、
結局、屋内駐車場があって涼しい所っていうと、買い物・・・

今回はハーバーランドへ。

この前初めて行ったコムサストアでは、マザーズバッグを購入！
新しいシリーズらしいけど、サイズ的にも満足。

阪急の赤ちゃん本舗ではJが使える抱っこ紐を試してみて、
BuddyBuddyのウエストポーチ型のをゲット。
　
これで４つ目の抱っこ紐・・・

今まで、ずっとBaby Bjornを使ってたけど、あれは１０キロまでで、みやはもう
とっくに使用不可状態。

私は、この前ちょいのりっていう抱っこ紐を買ったから、
今回のは完全にJ専用。ちょいのりは思ってたよりも体に密着して、
使いやすい。コンパクトになるし、デザインもかわいい。
ただ、同じものなのに、色と柄によっては1000円の差があるのにはびっくり。

買い物の後は、久しぶりにイタリアンジェラートを食べた。
オーストラリアのよりあっさりしてたかな。

たまにはこうやって出かけるのもいいかも。

First time in the ocean! 初めての海！

We went back to Okinoerabu Island for my grandmother's funeral in the beginning of this month. Okinoerabu Island is in sub-tropical so on the last day of our stay, we took Miya to the beach. It was her first time in the ocean Unlike in Melbourne, water is warm there!

Miya loves playing in the bath so she really enjoyed playing in the water!

As it is in summer season in Japan, the weather was really hot and humid. I think it was hotter than Melbourne summer. The beach was only five minutes drive away but we couldn't go there because of the funeral and other ceremonies so Miya also had some play time in the backet. (please scroll down to see the photo)

この前、沖永良部島に行った時、滞在の最終日、みやを連れて、海へ
引き潮だったけど、みやが遊ぶには十分。

水遊び大好きだからか、海に入るのも、顔に海水がかかっても全然平気だったみたい。
写真に写ってる黄色い浮き輪は海の店で借りた物だけど、気に入らなくて全然使わず・・・なくてもよかったかも

滞在中の気温は毎日が３５度ぐらいで、何といっても湿気がすごくて、気づくと汗かいてる感じだった
メルボルンの夏よりはるかに暑かった。

海は車で５分の距離だけど、さすがにそんなに行ける状況じゃなかったから、みやは庭先で水遊びも初体験。

島の北側の海では、初めてウミガメが泳いでるのを見れた
今が産卵シーズンらしい。少し遠かったけど、初めて見れてちょっと感激

Sad trips 悲しい旅行

Last Tuesday, my grandmother passed away. She was 100 years old. All of my family went back to Okinoerabu Island near Okinawa. Her funeral was held at her home. Over two days, 850 people came to the house and about 150 people who couldn't attend the ceremony sent messages or flowers. It was a really big ceremony.

We came back to Kobe two days ago.

Today, my uncle passed away suddenly so we drove about 3 hours from Kobe to his house. It's too sad.... I don't like to have this kind of trips...

先週、祖母が亡くなり、急遽、沖永良部島まで家族で帰省。いつもなら楽しいはずの旅行が、今回は・・・

お通夜からお葬式まで地元のしきたりにのって行われた。千人近くがお焼香に来られたり、電報を送られたり。盛大に行われた。

神戸には一昨日戻ってきた。

今日のお昼ごろ、父から携帯に電話がかかってきた。昼間電話かけてくることはないから、変だなぁと思ったら、倉敷の叔父が亡くなったと。急いで荷造りをして、車で倉敷へ。明日お通夜、明後日お葬式。

悲しいことが続きすぎ。

First DVD 初めてのしまじろうDVD

We haven't shown any TV or DVD to Miya till now but last week, we showed a DVD which has a little tiger character in it. (I bought these on ebay in Japan for Miya. I though it would be good for learning Japanese while she is in Australia.) It came with story books too so Miya has seen the character before.

First time, Miya was soooo excited seeing the DVD. From second time, she even reacts to the character's voice. I was told of the popularity of this DVD series by others but had no idea how Miya would like.

I only bought three months worth of DVDs and books so now I am in search for more of the series on ebay. These DVDs and books are from a conrresponding course so cannot be purchased at a normal book shop. If you subscribe them, it costs $16 a month and you get a book, a toy and a DVD every month. We might subscribe it once we go back to Australia.

今まで、みやにテレビは見せてなかったんだけど、先週、初めてしまじろうのDVDを見せてみた。（しまじろうはこどもちゃれんじのキャラクター。日本語教育にいいかなぁと思ってオークションでぷちファーストをゲット）

絵本はメルボルンにいた時から読み聞かせてたんだけど、DVDへの反応はそんなものとは比べ物にならなかった。

瞬きしてるの？っていうぐらい真剣に見てた。2回目以降はしまじろうの声が聞こえるだけで、キャッキャッと声まで出すぐらい。

なんでこんなに好きなんだろう？？しまじろう人気は聞いていたけど、ここまで気に入るとはびっくり。
気に入ったら続きをと思ってたから、早速続きをオークションで探しているところ。

Crawling & standing! ハイハイにつかまり立ち

Miya has discovered a lot of things lately. She started sitting up from being on tummy on June 7th and two days later, she started crawling forward. (till then, she only went backwards) On June 12th, she could stand up by holding onto something! She was really proud of herself then.

From June 8th, she started saying a few words. First word was 'manma' which means food in Japanese. Second word was 'wanwan', word for dog and the third word was 'ba-ba', word for grandma. My mum looks after Miya a lot and Miya loves her too.

6月7日に腹ばいからお座りができるようになったと思ったら、その二日後にはハイハイで前進を始めた。それだけでも成長したなぁとおもっていたのに、その三日後の12日にはつかまり立ちまで。この前、ベビーベッドの段を下げたのに、一番下まで下げないと危ないかも。

6月8日には、初めてはっきりと「マンマ」って言ってびっくり。続いて「ワンワン」も。最近では「バアバ」も言うようになった。いつも遊んでくれるからか、バアバが一番のお気に入り。

Life in Japan

It has been six weeks since we moved to Kobe, Japan. We are getting used to our new routine. Miya seems happy getting lots of attention especially from my parents. She is now eight months old and is pretty big for her age - 72cms, 10kgs!

As I haven't had chance writing this blog for a long time so here are the summary of our last couple of months:

Beginning of March - Three of us visited Perth for a week

End of March - Miya and I visited Perth again for 5 days to attend my friend's wedding - It was a lovely wedding!

Beginning of April - While we were in Perth, my grandmother collapsed so two of us went back to Japan for a week. It was good to see her (since then her condition improved though she is still in the hospital) but it was really tiring to have so many flights in such a short period. (9 flights in ten days!)

Middle of April - Day after we came back to Melbourne, my sister and her in-lows to be arrived for my sister's wedding. We were soooo busy taking everyone to places and organising things for the wedding. The wedding was on April 12th and it was a small but nice wedding.

After the wedding, we were busy packing up for our move to Japan. We had to put most of our belongings to a storage and that was a big job. (I wouldn't do it again)

On April 28th, we travelled to Cairns and stayed a night there before we flew in Japan on the following day.

When we arrived, we were staying with my parents but after two weeks, we moed into an apartment which is about five minutes away from my parents' home. My sister was living there and left most of furnitures for us so that was a bonus.

J and I had our birthdays in the middle of May. It was my first birthday with my family in 9 years!

My sister and her husband had their wedding party with friends in the end of May. Three of us attended the party and Miya got lots of attentions from guests. On the next day, I went to Kyoto for my friend's wedding. Her wedding was at a temple so it was really interesting to see a different style ceremony. (usually Japanese people get married at a shrine or a chapel)

As you can see, we had a really busy two months. I will try updating this blog more often.....

日本に来てから、早くも6週間。最近ようやく生活に慣れて来た感じです。みやは先月末で8ヶ月。早くも10キロ、72センチ！大きいねぇとよく言われます・・・

前回更新したのが、3月なので、この2ヶ月についてちょっと書いてみました。

3月初旬　家族三人でパースへ旅行
3月下旬　みやと二人で再度パースへ。高校時代の友達の結婚式に出席。パースにいる間に日本にいる祖母が倒れて、急遽帰国。10日間でメルボルンからパース、そして日本を往復したのはさすがに疲れた・・

4月初旬　メルボルンへ帰国。その翌日、神戸から妹の結婚式の為に、妹と妹の義理の家族になる方々が到着。式の準備や移動で大忙し。式は4月12日にメルボルン市内の教会で挙げました。

4月下旬　引越しに向けて、家の片付けや倉庫への荷物の移動などに追われて、息つく間もないぐらい。最後の二日は夜の11時まで片付けをしていた・・・

4月28日　メルボルンからケアンズへ。乗り継ぎの為に、ケアンズで一泊。

4月29日　関空到着！手荷物と預けた荷物は100キロを超えていて、父と妹の車2台が一杯に。

5月中旬　実家近くの２LDKのアパートに引越し。といっても妹が先月まで住んでいた所で、家具もほとんど置いていってくれたから、買わなければいけない物はベッドのみ。
　　　　　　
　　　　　　Jと私の誕生日。日本で家族と一緒に迎える誕生日はなんと9年ぶり。

5月下旬　妹の結婚の披露パーティーに出席。翌日、京都で友達の結婚式に出席。（彼女の式は京都のお寺で。仏式のお式は始めての経験）おめでたいことが続きました。

6月に関しては次回に。

Back in Japan!

It has been a really hectic month but we made it to Japan! I will upload some of news and photos really soon. Oh, we got new mobile phones that you can send emails to so I will send an email with more details soon.

すんごく忙しい四月でしたが、何とか神戸に戻ってくる事が出来ました！今はまだ実家ですが、明日にでも近くのアパートに移る予定です。今日、新しい携帯を手に入れたので、メールアドレスなどの詳細を近いうちにメールで送りますから、待っててくださいね！
