I wasn’t going to visit alone but with my friend Atsuko... she now is my Oneechan!!! ^^ That same day I met her family and slept at their home!!! :)
She came all the way to the station near the hostel to meet me... I had been waiting for ten minutes (she was a bit late; being half British I was on time!! :P) thinking about what to see in Kyoto... the day was rainy so it dampened my mood a bit...
Atsuko came to me before I could recognize her (although I had seen lots of photos of her), being the only foreign person there!!! ^^ She greeted me with a bow and I greeted back in the same way... I looked at her... she was tiny (shocker, right?), sweet and very shy!!! She was adorable... *(^o^)*
We took the train to the main station in Kobe and from there we changed to take a train for Kyoto... all the way to Kyoto we didn’t not stop talking... she mostly asked me about the days I was in Japan and what I saw...
Kyoto
I always loved this city from the pictures I saw in various magazines or online... I wished I could live there one day... at the end of the though my impression was completely different :P
Our first stop was Kiyomizu temple...
It was magnificent and breathtaking especially when looking down over the city... because it was raining I got myself an umbrella... don’t like umbrellas really but Atsuko-nee insisted on sharing hers or getting one for myself so I chose the second option!! ^^
Going up from the central road you pass through small streets filled with vendors and small shops of souvenirs... until you reach a widening, stairs and the Kiyozumi Gate standing proudly inviting you in the temple surroundings... ^^
There is not much to say about the temple, other than it was beautiful!!! So I will let the few pics speak for them selves!!!
I have more pictures but they have me and Atsuko-nee in them... and I never put pics of me on the internet unless I am disguised!!! ^^
Leaving the temple we went to eat at a local small restaurant... I don’t remember what we ordered since I didn’t like in very much!! ahahahaha... I don’t store useless info in my memory (not unless I want too :P)...
From there we took a bus and went to another place with an enormous shrine... the Heian shrine... oh.. I forgot to mention that I forgot my umbrella in the restaurant so I had to buy another one by the time I realized I didn’t have it with me!!! ahahahahahaha... forever a DORK!!! *(^O^)*
