今日オナーズの論文の提案書（？）を書いた。 I wrote my Honours thesis proposal today.
「オナーズ」というのはオーストラリア大学のこと。大学の四年は授業と長い（１５００－１８００wordsぐらい）論文を書かなければならない。オナーズのあと学生は卒業をして、大学院に入れる。 'Honours' is a part of the Australian university system. In your 4th year you take classes and write a long (1500-1800 word) thesis. After Honours you can graduate and enter post-graduate study.
あたしの専攻は日本語と日本文化だったら、日本について論文を書くつもり～ My majors are Japanese language and Japanese Cultural studies, so I intend to write my thesis about Japan~
日本に住んでいた間、いろいろ日本的な食事（料理？）文化を経験した。 I encountered many different Japanese food cultures while I lived in Japan.
もう動いている（生きている！！）フグ、生牛肉、刺身を食べた。 I ate still moving (still living!) puffer fish, raw beef and sashimi.
日本人は新鮮な料理が好きでしょう。 The Japanese seem to like fresh food!
でも、一番おもしろいことは日本人の肉の広告だと思う。 but I found Japanese meat advertising the most interesting.

人がいっぱい東京電車でこの広告をよく見て、ちょっと気持ち悪くなった。どうして動物は目がない？どうして動物は自分の肉を召し上がっているか？と思った。ちょっと怖い！ I often saw this ad on the packed Tokyo trains, and thought they were a little strange. How come the animals have no eyes? Why are they serving their own meat to us? Its a little scary!
私のオーストラリアの文化で、動物と肉はオーストラリア人の考えで全然違うと思う。 In my own culture, the animal and the meat are completely separate in our way of thinking.
オーストラリア人にとって、生肉を食べにくい。「牛」は広い野原に住んでいる。皿の牛肉は考えで「牛肉」だけだ。食べ前、「この牛肉はOO日間前広い野原に住んでいた」を考えない。考えったら、牛肉を食べられないかも。 For Australians, eating raw meat is at times difficult. A 'cow' lives in a vast field. The meat on a plate is simply 'meat'. We don't think "__days ago this meat was living in a lovely field". If Australians did, we probably wouldn't be able to eat it!
オーストラリア人の考え方はちょっと不健全だろう。 The Australian way of thinking about meat is unhealthy.
牛肉を食べたかったら、牛肉は牛の肉を受け入れるべきだと思う。 If you want to eat meat, you should accept that beef comes from a cow.
日本人は生肉を食べられる。だから考えで「牛」と「牛肉」は同じでしょう。 The Japanese can eat raw meat, so in their mind 'cow' and 'beef' are perhaps the same.
しかし、 however,
どうしてさっきの広告で動物は人間の服着ているか？ 日本人はカニバル？ww how come in the above ad, the animals are wearing human clothes? are the Japanese cannibals? lol
オーストラリア人と日本人の動物と肉の考える方を研究して、比べたい。とてもおもしろいだと思う。 I want to research and compare the Australian and Japanese way of thinking about animals and meat. I find it so interesting!
