Christmas is a special event in winter. I heard that almost of stores or restaurants are closed on Christmas day in Canada. I was surprised because it is opposite with Japan. Many stores or restaurants are open until night in Christmas day, so a lot of people go out.
Christmas day this year, I spent with my best friend. She researched a restaurant very hard and booked it. We ate lunch at the BOATHOUSE on kits beach which in Kitsilano. And we enjoyed a gorgeous Christmas course. I ate vegetable salad, meat and lobster, and a cheese cake. They were so good and I thought that the best meal in I ate until now in Vancouver. She and I were pretty happy and satisfied very much.
Then we were back downtown at 4:00 pm. We wanted to drink coffee, however, a lot of cafes were closed. Moreover, there were only a few people in downtown. We looked for cafes very hard but we could not find, so we went back home. After I returned home, I enjoyed talking with my roommates.
I think the tradition of Christmas in Canada is very nice since everyone can enjoy Christmas very much with their family or friends. They will definitely relax and have a great time. My Christmas day was also a happy time.
