I love reading English picture books. When I was a university student, my English teacher recommended reading English picture books a lot. They are so interesting story and pictures are very cute. I think that adults enjoy reading while studying English. Since I came to Vancouver, I often buy those. I like going to local bookstore. Therefore, I’ll introduce my favorite picture book in English.
It is called “The Listening Walk”. The story is about a girl who takes a walk with her dog and her father, and she enjoys listening to all kinds of sounds. For example, the shoe sound of her father or a lady who puts on high heels, sounds of pigeons, sounds of whispers. And the expression is funny such as sounds of high heels express “bik dok bik dok bik dok”. It is unique and interesting.
I always listen to music when I walk in the street. However, I tried to walk without music after finishing reading this picture book. I could enjoy walker than usual because I noticed kinds of sounds and listened to those as the girl. It was very fun.
In my opinion, English picture books tell us small happiness in the life. My life will be enjoyed more and more, so I continue to read ones from now on.
