The key is “Emotional Impact.” In order to do that, you need to “show” a story.

(Not to tell a story)

Storytelling Basics

When you make a public speech, check these three things!

1 Curiosity for Opening

This means “Don’t Push, Pull”. We tend to focus “I” message, but
please use “You” questions to pull your audience into the scene of
your story.

2 Conflict for Character

This means “Don’t tell, show it.” By giving lots of examples, he
convinced us how much audience wants conflicts in our speech.
Especially, our own conflicts. If we could show the main
person(usually ourselves)’s lots of struggles based on “Dialog style”,
not narration, that would be great. It will be very effective to show
your emotion naturally.

3 Catalyst for Change

This means you focus on your stimulus for change in your speech.
Thanks to a person or an occasion, a main character changes. You need
to find what your “catalysts” are in your speech.

In a Public speech, you need to look at the audience but speak to one person.

Your posture is important. A bit step forward.

In a dialog, don’t move, but you use a character’s name.

I take a video to improve my speeches. Analyze and Revise many times.

Narration represents past, and Dialogs represent present moment.
