KUALA LUMPUR: The students of Garden International School in Mont Kiara have raised RM15,000 to help grant the wishes of terminally ill children.
The school's head of secondary, Graham Wilson, handed the cheque to Children's Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS) board member Alan Yip recently.
"We are amazed that children are doing a lot for other children," said Yip.
"We do see a trend of schools, colleges and universities coming forward to $10 cheap omega watches in 2010 raise funds for us."
The RM15,000 was taken from the RM119,999 that the school raised on Mufti Day, a yearly charity event Replica Yves Saint Laurent Handbags Bags organised by the school's prefects to raise funds for the needy, last November.
Head prefect Andrew Chin, 16, said the theme of last year's Mufti Day was "Rumble In The Jungle".
The activities included dunking the teacher, sale of dedications in the form of roses and various games.
"Every year, Mufti Day grows bigger and bigger. We feel very good about contributing to Childre's Wish Society," he said.
Music teacher Pamela Sime who is in charge of the prefects said CWS was picked because of the cause it championed.
Chanel Watches "We did our research on children's charities and after going through CWS's profile, we felt they were special as they focus on honouring the wishes of sick children. It is very noble of them," she said.
The school also gave RM64,000 to the New Straits Times Press Charity Fund in aid of six recipients.
