only a "yesterday" that someone wrote

When I write "I love you"

so is "I love you" a feeling, or just letters?

 Stump

ここで取り上げる表現は"stump"です。動詞だと、「〜を困らせる」という意味があります。

類似表現もついでに見ておきます。

• stump: 難問で答えに詰まらせる、困惑させる（カジュアルな文脈でよく使われる）
