The comedy duo Time Machine No. 3 was formed as a product of chance when they were the “leftovers” in their class at the Tokyo Announce Gakuin and were paired together by their instructor. At first, their relationship was awkward, but as they came to recognize each other’s talent, it grew into a one-of-a-kind partnership that has lasted for more than 20 years. Hiroshi Yamamoto already had experience in comedy and took a leading role, but Seki’s natural gift for unexpected, brilliant gags became the driving force of their chemistry—and the key to their longevity.
