The occasional message which is of little interest is OK provided that the vast majority of the messages received from you are valuable and provide good useful information to the reader. I believe it is better to not send any message than it is to send a message that is of no value. Send too many worthless messages and you run the risk of annoying and having that person remove themselves from receiving your information.
