江戸っ子一号とは８０００メートルの深海を探査出来る無人探査機です。
この度、地元の中小企業4社と、海洋開発機構、2つの大学が協力して、この探査機
を開発しました。
日本周辺の海底は、レアアースや医薬品に役立つ微生物の宝庫なのす。
探査機の開発には、通常、１００億円以上かかるといわれています。
そこで、ゴム製造会社の杉野社長はもっと少ないコストで、探査機を作ろうと,それぞれの
分野でで優れた技術を手掛けている社長さん達に呼びかけて研究をはじめました。
彼らは、3年間、大学等の協力も得て、何度も研究や、試作をくりかえして、やっと
今年、２０００万円で製品ができあがりました。
今は実験の段階ですが、実用も間近です。 海外から視察もきています。
このような中小企業の挑戦は、日本再建のはずみになる事でしょう。
Deep sea probe
There are much rare metal and microbe for medical supplies in the
sea bed surrounding Japan.
[Edokko the fist] is a probe which can search deep sea 8000 meters
bellow the sea level.
It is made in cooperation with 4 small and medium size enterprises.
Usually, development of a probe costs 10 billion yen.
Then Mr. Sugino wanted to try to make his original probe, besides
with lower cost.
He planned to make it in cooperation with other 3 manageral people,
who had each special technic.
They, 4 members had researched and tried to make again and again
for 3 years.
And this year, they succeeded to finish it, the cost was only 20 million
yen to make.
Now it's in the experimental stage though, it's comming into practice,
and some observers from overseas visited there for study.
I think that challenge of small factries become momentum of Japanese
reconstruction.
