I thought we had something. I really did.
You came after me no matter where I was.
You took on dangers for me without a cringe.

You were there when I needed you.

However, you left me on a whim,
Laid your lips on another.

My world shattered then.
Upon her single utter, you cast me aside.
You never looked back.

I ran away.
I don't need anyone.

And then, a butterfly.
Streaked yellow and black.

I reached a hand out.
It laid.
And died soon after.
