Ashley moved to Okinawa, Japan in June 2019. Coming from California, USA, she has been dancing since she was 7 years old. Primarily ballet, lyrical, and jazz. Ashley studied dance and performed for her local college and taught for children’s competition teams at studios, as well as adult pointe classes. All while continuing to take classes at a studio to improve her own technique. When the studio closed it’s doors, she decided to branch out and try something new. That’s when she first found and fell in love with an aerial studio called Pole Kraze in Murrieta, Ca. Starting with the pole and quickly finding her way to the hoop, she spent many days a week training and loving specifically aerial hoop. Ashley now has approximately 3 years of aerial experience total. Taking a break only after getting pregnant and having her daughter. When her husband first came to Okinawa, he stumbled across Riders Garage where he met Anz. He knew how much his wife loved the hoop and how sad she was to say goodbye to it when they moved. He grabbed a flier from her and brought it back to Ashley. From there, Ashley started taking private lessons with Anz, where they both worked hard to recondition her and help gain back strength and flexibility. Now she is ready to take the stage again and perform. She is incredibly grateful for her wonderful support group cheering her on at home and for a teacher who hasn’t given up on her and pushes her to meet her greatest capacities.
