Mallorca is known as "a part of Germany" to Germans and jokingly considered as the 17th state of Germany because the island is dominated by Germans (and in some parts, by the Brits). I was given the choice to chose any other place in Spain to visit, but because I was so curious about the "German-ness" of Mallorca, I chose that.
It didn't disappoint. It was so German that they needed signs in German, English, and Spanish. It was like being in SoCal, where sometimes you'd see bilingual signs in Spanish and English. They even had a Deutsche Bank (thankfully!), Schlagermusik, and a fair amount of German restaurants. The only thing I regret not seeing are the giant 5L buckets of Sangria that people apparently share with really long straws.
Next time I will chose a more Spanish place to experience what true Spaniards are like, since the people of Mallorca didn't really consider themselves as Spaniards.

I will try not to show too much German touristy things, because the villages in some parts of the island are beautiful and preserve the Spanish style. I think I could retire here!

There are many different parts of Mallorca, ranging from the mountains to the ocean to farmland. Each is really beautiful in it of itself.

I spent most of my time in the ocean. Unfortunately because the weather was still in the middle of transitioning from spring to summer, the temperature was a bit too cool for me to jump into the water.

I also did a shitload of running while I was there-- ranging from 10k-20k. This was great because it kickstarted this love I seem to now have for running long distances. Since then I have been doing it fairly frequently than I used to... and my body is responding quite positively to it!
The weather seemed to be playing games with me during these times, because when I was running, it was sunny and 28+ degrees, and during break it was cloudy and 16-20.
Running allowed me to see things in a perspective that you would never get when riding a car. I was even crazy enough to run up the mountains through the serpentine roads once-- normally I would complain about this but I discovered that super hot road cyclists would take these serpentine roads too, so I didn't mind

Spain is not Spain without CHURROS... I miss these SO much.
At one point they had all-you-can-eat churros which meant the calories and fat burned from running 20k up the mountains came back. I don't regret it though-- these are so hard to find here in Munich so the experience was well worth it!

It's so awesome! Actually, I was responsible for this:

It's more the graphics on the wall. ^^;
I wish I had better pictures of my work on the wall, but it was so incredibly busy on-site that I had virtually no time to do it while they had the graphics up.
This was a very ambitious project because it involved lifting the walls up.
All the things that are outside of the Porsche box were not shown because the screen walls were down, blocking the view.
So basically you, as the audience, were led through this tunnel into a small room with white walls.
You sat on the small box seats while the Porsche speaker talks about the new Boxster and the graphics are shown on three sides of the wall.
As soon as the presentation is over, the walls are lifted up, revealing the stuff beyond the box. It was really cool!
I was not a part of the audience but this would have excited me if I was.
These projectors were HUGE. They were probably the size of half a couch.
And there were thirteen of them!!

I gotta say, I was not a Boxster fan at all. I really didn't like the previous designs of the Boxsters in the 90s and early 2000s, but this one... This gorgeous model..........
I WANT!!!!!!!
After the show, I would go to the "Boxster lounge" to drink with the Porsche guys.
Yes, they had their own lounge, lol. It's at the rooftop of the hotel we all were staying in.
But the view is always so gorgeous, and the hotel itself was probably a 5-star hotel.

Yesterday was game 1/3 for Germany in Euro 2012.
It feels like World Cup all over again.
The first game was against Portugal. And it. Was. SCARY.
I don't know what went on with Jogi's boys, but it didnt feel like they gave it their all.
Even though Germany did win 0:1.... ゛(`▽´)
Mario Gomez is a hero to us all!

Yesterday my boyfriend also left for Australia, for work.
It's going to be a long two weeks. I already ate a whole box of chocolate out of boredom. (=◇=;)

Last weekend we had a three day holiday.
Saturday was my boyfriend's birthday party so we had a Bollywood night at our place.
We invited two other friends and cooked Indian food for dinner and were stuffed!
The food was great though. The main dish was Indian curry.
My boyfriend is a really great cook.

The rest of us made homemade mint & coriander chutney.
We picked the herbs out and mashed them ourselves.
It tasted so good and we were so proud

We were up until 3am watching Main Hoon Naa and Shaolin Soccer lol
Main Hoon Naa is really good. I havent seen it in a long time.
The next day my boyfriend and I went to the English garden to relax and read.
It was such a beautiful day that day--- 23 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze, minimum humidity.
We brought a picnic blanket, a basket with four bottles of beer in it.
We had a really secluded spot.
I caught up with all the magazines I wanted to read on my iPad and I think at one point, he fell asleep XD

On Monday-- our day off, we went to Therme Erding, the biggest spa in the world.
If you don't mind getting naked in front of people and seeing others naked, I highly recommend this place.
They really cover all indulgences of your 5 senses. Every time I go in there, I end up with baby-smooth skin.
For 37 EUR, you can stay in there all day and use the many saunas they have there.
Each sauna has a different theme. My personal favorite is the rose sauna.
It's 80 degrees in there and there are roses hung on the ceiling and walls. On the heater, they occasionally put rose-scented perfume in there. It smells unbelievable
This time, we rented a small bed. For 20 EUR extra, it's not bad at all!
For more information, you can go here: http://www.therme-erding.de/de/100686/sauna-muenchen.html
Sorry, the site in in German! m(_ _)m

For obvious reasons, we are not allowed to take pictures.
But I managed to snipe one with the iPhone (`∀´)

From Wednesday to Saturday, I went to my boyfriend's home town to see wher.
Actually, home town is an overstatement. He grew up in a village.
Being a city girl all my life, the village life was really different to me.
His village was in the middle of really majestic hills. The car had to climb in order to get there.
It was really beautiful in his village. REALLY beautiful. It's quite inspiring!
We took a walk and he showed me where he usually played when he was a kid, where his school was, etc.

Climbing these hills was really exhausting, but exercise is good for you!

His mom is so cute. She woke up early to prepare breakfast for us and left a cute little note
She also really loves cats, and has two of them!
I affectionately named one of them "Two-Face", even though her real name is Schnooki. XD
The other's name is Emi

Despite East Germany's history, it really is a very nice place to visit.
