Smart energy company ClearEdge Power has reported raised $73.5m ahead of a likely initial public offering.
The company has carried out a Series E financing round, with Artis Capita Management, Güssing Renewable Energy, Southern California Gas Company and Kohlberg Ventures all participating.
As a leading producer of distributed generation solutions for light commercial applications, ClearEdge Power is changing the way businesses across the world get their energy, said ClearEdge Power president and CEO Russell Ford. This new investment provides the capital necessary for ClearEdge Power to build on our already strong foundation by entering new markets, advancing our technology and commercialising new products.
Earlier this month, NewNet reported that ClearEdge Power raised $13.5m in equity, bring total funds garnered since its inception up to $35m.
In August 2009, the start-up company raised $15m in a funding round, having previously been backed by Kohlberg Family, Big Basin Partners and Applied Ventures. This funding round came just months after the business welcomed Ford on as CEO.
