隠れた地球環境問題として、酸性雨問題があります。
そして、益々深刻になっています。
海洋研究者150名以上が集まった国際会議で、酸性雨
で世界の海が酸性化しており、数十年以内に海洋生態
系と海洋生物に重大な被害が及ぶ惧れがあると警告し
ています。
海の酸性化は、自然状態よりも100倍も早く進んでいる
そうです。海水は僅かにアルカリ性(pH8.2前後)です
が、IPCCも酸性化を警告しています。
東アジアでは、中国発の酸性雨で日本や韓国が甚大な
被害を蒙りつつあります。中国は発電の８０％を石炭
に頼り、質の悪い石炭を大量に燃やし続ける結果、そ
れが酸性雨となって偏西風で運ばれ日本列島に降って
います。
困ったものです。

The IPCC forecasts that ocean pH will fall by "between 0.14 and 0.35 units over the 21st Century, adding to the present decrease of 0.1 units since pre-industrial times"
